Engine compartment cleaning

Restore a clean and tidy appearance to the engine compartment

The engine compartment is often one of the most neglected parts of the vehicle. Over time, dust, oils, road residue, and dirt can accumulate on plastics, painted components, and accessible surfaces.

Our cosmetic cleaning service aims to restore the engine compartment to a clean, uniform and well-maintained appearance, without attempting to dismantle the mechanical components.

Why clean the engine compartment?

A more polished presentation

A clean engine bay complements general vehicle maintenance and gives a better impression, particularly before a sale, inspection, or exhibition.

Easier visual inspection

When surfaces are clean, it becomes easier to notice a recent leak, an unusual deposit, or an area requiring mechanical attention.

However, cleaning does not replace an inspection or repair performed by a mechanic.

Better surface preservation

Oil, grease, and contaminant deposits can gradually soil or deteriorate certain plastics and rubbers. Regular maintenance helps keep these surfaces cleaner and looking their best.

What should we expect?

This service is designed for a vehicle used normally and whose engine compartment has a common accumulation of dust, dirt and light residue.

He doesn't necessarily understand:

  • the complete elimination of a major oil leak;
  • the removal of an anti-rust treatment;
  • the dismantling of mechanical parts;
  • the restoration of oxidized or damaged components;
  • cleaning an engine that has suffered a major breakdown or spill.

In unusual situations, an assessment and hourly pricing may be required.

Our cleaning process

1. Engine compartment inspection

We check the general condition, the level of dirt and the presence of components requiring special attention.

2. Protection of vulnerable areas

Sensitive accessible elements are protected when necessary before cleaning begins.

3. Application of a degreasing cleaner

A suitable product is applied to the surfaces to remove accumulated dust, oil and dirt.

4. Manual cleaning and controlled rinsing

The surfaces are worked with appropriate brushes and accessories. Water usage is controlled to avoid unnecessary saturation of the engine compartment.

5. Drying and finishing

Once the cleaning is complete, the surfaces are dried and a protective coating is applied to compatible plastics and rubbers to obtain a clean and natural finish.

A method adapted to the age and condition of the vehicle

Not all vehicles need to be cleaned in the same way.

The vehicle's age, the condition of the seals, previous repairs, electrical modifications, and the presence of exposed components all influence the method used. Therefore, we adapt the amount of water, the products, and the techniques according to each situation.

On some older, modified vehicles or vehicles with damaged components, we may recommend a more limited approach or refuse certain steps in order to avoid unnecessary risk.

Cleaning does not fix a leak

Cleaning the engine compartment may make it easier to spot a leak, but it does not fix its cause.

When a significant amount of oil or other liquid is present, it is best to have the leak repaired before cleaning. Otherwise, the surfaces are likely to get dirty again quickly.

Regarding rust prevention treatments

We do not attempt to completely remove any rust-preventative products already present in the engine compartment. These products may remain visible after cleaning and detract from the final aesthetic result.

A good addition before selling the vehicle

A clean engine compartment can help give a potential buyer an impression of careful maintenance. However, it's important not to try to hide a leak or mechanical problem.

Our goal is simply to present a clean, honest, and well-maintained motoring space.
